This week sees the launch of eagerly anticipated open-world stealth game, . Developed by Kojima Productions, the game will be released for the , , , , and on September 1.
Publisher Konami is dubbing the title as The claim isn’t without credence, as the Phantom Pain scored a and was .
The game is a sequel to 2014’s , which served as a stand-alone prologue to The Phantom Pain. Chronologically, the story of Metal Gear Solid V takes place before the events of the first game and is the first to bring an open world to the series. The Phantom Pain will also have a companion app which allows players to use their phone as a screen to look at an in-game map, and listen to unlocked music.
Those who pre-ordered a may find that some downloadable content codes are missing from the package–not to worry though, as Konami has stated that the codes will make their way to customers “on receipt or via email.”
