While DC’s movie universe is only just getting going, the one developed by Marvel over the past few years is so well established that we can expect to see numerous superhero crossovers over the coming years. Next year’s Captain America: Civil War is no longer just the story of shield-throwing Steve Rogers–it’s a multi-character showdown between a host of heroes. A new international trailer has been released, which adds a few new action-packed shots to the one seen . Check it out here:
Captain America: Civil War tells the story of the conflict between Rogers and Tony Stark, following government registration of superhero activity. As the trailer shows, other heroes from the Marvel universe also play a part in the fight, including Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, Black Panther, and The Vision.
Although he is yet to be seen in the trailer, Spider-Man will also make his Marvel debut, ahead of his own movie in 2017. Earlier this month, co-director Anthony Russo hinted that the character might wear the red-and-gold armoured costume designed by Tony Stark that features in the Civil War comic.
“We did a lot of research and experimented with the looks of each character. We went through the same process with Spider-Man”, he told Brazilian site , via . “We’re still working on a few things, like the costume. He’s not ready yet because so much will be produced with special effects. The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for, with a little twist.”
Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 6, 2016. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Rudd.
