With only a week to go until Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally opens, the avalanche of trailers and teasers shows no signs of stopping. The latest is an international trailer for the Chinese release, that reveals several new shots and lines of dialogue. Check it out here:
In an interview with , Force Awakens star John Boyega spoke about the experience of seeing the film for the first time, and how the action scenes in particular impressed him.
“I like the dogfights in the air,” he said. “The X-Wing dogfights that we’ve seen briefly in the trailers. It’s beautiful and magical to look at, and just reminds me of why I love Star Wars so much. For me it’s just epic, and it’s gonna make you feel like jumping over the cinema seat and slapping someone’s popcorn out of their hand.”
Boyega also discussed how he has engaged with fans, and how previous Star Wars movies were released in an era before social media. “Social media–it’s just different,” he said. “For me, my main approach with this movie is that fans haven’t been able to have an insight into Star Wars the way they’d like to, and so the way in which I’ve used social media–and especially in terms of my Snapchat and Instagram–I’m basically trying to just remove the veil on the process.
“Because all they do is see the trailers, and then see the movie. So it’s good for fans to kind of go on this journey with me and see how things work.”
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18, 2015. It also stars Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill.
