Fallout 4 Release Rumors: What We Know So Far

Soon after the success of ‘Fallout 3’ in 2010, there has been many reports and even speculation as to the next saga in this game title series. Now, with the upcoming Electronics Entertainment Expo 2015 to be held in June, the game’s publishing company Bethesda had announced it would hold its very first press conference.

Many pundits are anticipating Bethesda’s announcement for both ‘Fallout 4’ and ‘ElderScrolls 6’. The rumor going around that aside from the announcement of an upcoming sequel, the company would also release the new sagas in the said event.

The first signs of an upcoming title came about when a voice actor announced he was working on “Fallout 4’ and the approval of the trademark for the game was formalized in Europe. It is also surmised that the announcement would be for the release of the game title for the XBOX One, PS4 and PC platforms.

The rumors were further fueled when Bethesda’s official blog reported that the company is urging its fans to ’save the date’ of June 14, 2015 for an announcement to be made in Hollywood, CA.

Other rumors have been based on leaked casting documents dated way back in 2013. The documents obtained by Kotaku said ‘Fallout 4’ production is underway and the setting for the gameplay would be the Boston, MA area.

What is official though is what Bethesda said in its official website, “Parts of our team have been in preproduction on our next major project, and that game (presumably Fallout 4) is at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.”

It must be remembered that after ‘Fallout 3’, the company then unveiled the highly successful “SkyRim”. Bethesda’s sister company ZeniMax Online Studios had also released “Elder Scrolls Online’.

Back in 2008, in an interview of Bethesda’s VP for Public Relations Peter Hines, he said referring to the “Fallout” game, “This is not something we’re going to do once and then go away and never do it again.”

He added in that same interview with TVG, “When that will be or how long that will be God only knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we do with “The Elder Scrolls”.”
